Can Anti Wrinkle Injections make you happy?

I recently appeared on BBC TV in an item in the BBC Wales news. A report by Cardiff University School of Psychology had suggested a link between anti wrinkle Botox injections and how you feel. The report said that Botox injections in the forehead, by reducing frown lines, could make people feel happier, and injections to smooth out crows feet, or ‘laughter lines’, may make people feel less happy.

I was please to be asked to contribute and to be able to say that most of my clients do indeed come to me because they want to feel better. That strong frown lines and crows feet make them look miserable or cross and that other people judge them for it. So I would think that whatever area my client has treated it is likely to make them feel happier overall rather than sadder!

Does smoothing away wrinkles make you happy or sad? What do you think?

I’m not convinced that there’s a simple link between the smoothing of a particular set of facial lines and feeling happier or less happy.  I agree that most people seek cosmetic injections in order to change how they feel but mostly it results in them feeling better, happier, people. I’d really like to know what you think! Drop me yout thoughts in the form on the right!
